Question about
Anyone still excited? With all of the new smartphones popping up weekly, does the Streak still seem like something people want?
I have been waiting patiently for months but now I am starting to question my excitement... When is the official 'on sale now!' date here in the states?

The fact that it's still on Android 1.6 when most new devices are at least on 2.2 is a downer for me, but I'm still interested in the Streak, primarily because of the screen size. I'll be curious to see how it does when it finally hits here.

I think that it's a somewhat interesting device but the lack of a more recent version of Android and the ugly skin they put on it really turn me off. I'm intrigued by the screen size but I think it would just be too large to be practical for me. A 4 inch screen seems like the sweet spot.

With all the new devices hitting the market, I am still AMAZED that my Streak still excites me. DJ-Steve and Fards, over at XDA have been brewing some pretty solid roms over the past year. Steve has the ICS source in-hand and is currently working on porting ICS to the Streak 7, and eventually the 5.
Every time a hit a roadblock on the streak, I jump back to my 3GS. After 2-3 days, the 3.5 screen becomes irritatingly unusable. Ill check the XDA forums, find a new rom, flash it, and voila! I’ll be content for another month or so.
