Question about

Anyone know of an app that can identify apps that drain your battery? I tried searching for them on the market, but nothing turns up.

Just battery widgets that report how much juice you have left.

(I know you can dive into settings and find battery usage statistics, but on N1 system processes rank the highest and apps don't even register. I also use other battery saving strategies like airplane mode and lowest brightness possible.)

Juice defender is a good one that disables data when screen is off and only enable it every so often to update apps. It doesn't get battery draining apps but it does improve battery life

At least with my experience with 2.1, the battery usage settings panel is quite good about identifying battery hogging apps. Granted, it doesn't show anything that's seen as having used less than 2% since the last charge, but at that point other things tend to dwarf those apps and if they didn't leave those out then the list would get very, very long.

Try "Advanced Task Killer Free" on your Android device. It will allow you to "Kill" selected apps that are running in the background.

I don't know, but i would like to know what is draining my battery. And as Larry recently said "something is wrong" if you don't get a full day of battery, I would like to know what is wrong. He ssid that some apps don't manage battery usage well, but check out "Battery Use" in my settings, the Display is the process that it using it up the most.

I don't know about you guys, but my Nexus One often gets bogged down and runs horribly if i dont kill a bunch of apps with some kind of an app/task killer. Preferably ones with automatic task killing features that activate when the screen turns off, like automatic task killer, advanced task killer, task manager (of which there are several by different developers). Thanks for your responses. TDog, I'll give JuiceDefender a shot.

Down to 34% after being used for 1 hour and 25 minutes. This is ridiculous.
