Question about
Anyone know how well this phone works without a data plan? I am in wifi range all the time, and don't want to pay for a data plan that I don't need.
I would say that if wifi is available to you, it'll probably as good as having a data plan. On wifi, data speeds will be a lot faster, though I think it would be a pain to have to keep jumping around on different hotspots.
Just a heads up, this phone is really slow by today's standards. I just moved from a Magic to a Droid X and it's crazy to see that the Magic was once a "top" Android offering.

It does work, but to be able to activate it (without hacking) you'd initially need to have a data plan. I ran into that problem first hand...
