What sort of problems are you referring to? I use Dr. Podder on my Verizon Pre+ with webOS 2.1 and have not had any significant problems. Occasionally I would get podcasts that would cut off a little early but never anything that would stop me from being able to listen to the podcast.

Here are some general troubleshooting things that I have found after using the app for about a year.

1. Go to the website of the feed you want and manually input the feed into Dr. Podder.
When you are adding podcasts you want to make sure that you have the latest feed and don't rely on the directory searches. Sometimes the feeds in the directory are out of date and may not download the podcast.
2. Make sure the settings let you download podcasts via wifi or 3g.
This is in the settings of the app and you can turn it on or off. With Verizon my 3g downloads take a loooooooong time but it lets me verify that the podcast will download.
3. Set downloads to happen automatically when feeds are refreshed.
This is in the settings of the feed itself. You can enable how many podcasts to automatically download and as soon as new podcasts are found they should begin downloading.
4. Re-install You can export your feed list from the app and uninstall/reinstall the app and then re-import your feeds without needing to re-configure everything.

There are a couple other podcatchers in the app catalog if you still have problems.

I hope that helps.

P.S. If you are interested in Linux I used to be a host on www.mintcast.org which is a Linux Mint community podcast. :)
