I use the Intel desktop Gadget to see CPU speed and temp. Even when idle it pumps out 120 to 140 degrees from the side fan. Seems a little hot to me for an Atom doing nothing. Was wondering if the 7200 running a little hotter is too much for it.
Also noticed from the Gadget that CPU never seems to clock down below 1ghz, even when the machine is completely idle. I have a 7 year old Dell D610 with a 1.8ghz Pentium M that clocks down to 350mhz when idle. Curious why the Atom never cycles down.
Question about
Anyone having heat issues on their 1015PN? I've upgraded the internal drive to a 7200RPM, 2gigs RAM, Win7 Ultimate.
yeah, ive upgraded the stock ram from 1 to 2 gb and i am also notice the heat.. it feel like its running alot hotter than it should and i'm not exactly sure why.. i haven't had any troubles with it but i still fear it over heating..
on the plus it has made me back up my stuff regularly and i do have a four year warranty so hopefully i don't run into any issues
