Question about
Anyone finding the audio jack to be problematic with the original Motorola Droid?
I have tried several earbuds and they all seem to pause audio playback if slight movement occurs where the earbud connects to the audio jack (brushing against a pocket, etc.) I'm considering going in and asking for a replacement, as this problem seems to be increasing in terms of the frequency in which it occurs.
Same here - VZW has replaced my Droid 3 times for this issue, otherwise solid!

I'm on my third Droid. Both of my broken Droids had this issue. Give vzw a call. They'll send you a replacement.

It's funny how everyone is on their third Droid. I am too. My first one had screen issues after about 7 months. My replacement that they sent me had hardware keys that wouldn't work right out of the box. Now that I am on my third everything seems to work just fine except for the headphone jack issue....which is a problem that ALL THREE of them had. The Droid 2 might have better components.

I had a problem with my headphone jack as well. If I moved it at all it would crackle or pause music. I ended up taking mine apart and found out the jack's connection to the main board is spring loaded. I just bent the internal pins so they would apply more pressure to the board and haven't had a problem since. I did this about 9 months a go or so. Other than that and the phone getting out of date RAM wise my phone has been working great since I bought it on launch day.

I'm still on my original Droid. I use the headphone jack in the car and bluetooth stereo headphones for mass transit commuting. I've had no problems, but I use one of those right-angle connectors to take the stress off the connector jack. The one I use came from an airline headset kit.
