Anyone else more excited about the Nexus Prime than the iPhone 4S?

Frankly, I don't see how the Nexus Prime could be a less impressive release. The iPhone 4S is a great handset to be sure, but in everyone's mind it's just a spec bump of the iPhone 4. The Nexus Prime, assuming it's not a Galaxy S II in disguise, is going to be something we haven't seen yet for Android.
I don't know if the Prime will be a more impressive phone than the 4S, but yes, it's a more exciting release.

Android phones can be high quality but when you buy one you know there's going to be another one in six months or less with better hardware and it's tough to know when you will get the new software. Nexus devices seem to be the cream of the Android crop, but they still don't have the ability to create a system like iDevices can. The mirroring isn't important to most people, but iCloud and iTunes match are big points to the masses.

My two worries about the Nexus Prime are the size (if the 4.6+" inch screen is true), and hearing only Verizon carrying it. If that's the case, I may be holding to my Nexus One a bit longer until a suitable Android phone replaces it.

As for Nexus Prime, I'm excited about seeing what it has to offer, but my biggest concerns are as follows: 1 ) the rumoured screen size is something like 4.5", which for me is too big. Something around the 4-4.2" would be ideal, but 4.5 makes the device too hefty for my pockets. 2 ) When are they going to announce it and when will it be released? If there's still no news by the end of October, it's getting a little late for me and I might make the decision to get the 4S.

That being said, given that the Galaxy S II has been out a while, and that's kind of the rumored foundation for the Nexus Prime, I'm not expecting the Nexus Prime to be mindblowing - much of the appeal could just be the virgin implementation of Ice Cream Sandwich.

It now looks largely like Siri vs. 720p display. Not anymore a battle of 2 revamped hardwares.
I already have an iPad 2 so I'll get to taste iOS 5 either way. This device may also be blessed with Siri at some point.

So yes, I will be watching the Nexus Prime announcement with interest, although as a gamer I'm not sure I could give up all my iPhone games for the rather limited Android game library.

Plus, I've been using a Storm 2 while waiting for a decent phone to come out and I can't wait to get rid of it.

I'm not too excited to see an even bigger screen that what is the norm now for Android device currently (at some point bigger becomes too big), but I'm always curious in the Nexus line as they are like the concept car models that show you what could be. Except unlike car concepts, I can actually expect to see these features in phones to come.

Re: your question, there's a distinction to be made as I wasn't really all that impressed with the iPhone 4S as much as I was about IOS 5. A design change is typically more interesting for me as for many others, but it's probably better for the environment that this announcement was just internal changes and no significant "reinvention of the wheel" so to speak. You can all keep your cases.. or just not upgrade ;) Regarding Nexus Prime, I had no idea of the planning of this. Thanks for always keeping us up to date ;)

Nexus Prime could be far more exciting - presumably the same amount of processing power, but with a much better screen (the only really differentiator in terms of hardware experience), useful basics like micro USB and an open app store, and some geeky extras like NFC. That's before we even get to ice cream sandwich!
