Question about

Anybody experiencing bad connectivity?

My diNovo Mini keeps either dropping the bluetooth connection or getting reset, it is difficult to tell. I thought it might be the battery not staying connected, so I tried keeping the battery firmly in place with my fingers, but it still does it. Unfortunately it is out of warranty, but it might be a fixable problem. Anybody able to help?

I have one of these and I haven't noticed any issues with connectivity. Can you give a little more details about your usage? Are you using a computers bluetooth or the dongle that came with it? How far away from the source are you using it? Is the battery fully charged and/or have you tried it running solely on the AC power?

I have a similar problem. After each charge it looses te connection. I have to take out the battery, and put it back in, then it works. Not as bad as your problem since it only happens when charging. But obviously there are issues with it!

If you use the dongle it comes with you will keep a MUCH better connection that if you go bluetooth. I have no idea why other than they screwed up the BT stack. Its pretty surprising because they have been doing wireless keyboards for ages. But i use the dinovo mini constantly and never lose connection, and the battery last forever, like a month at a time.

I do have intermittent connection problems. The problem usually goes away after a few minutes by itself. I'm using the dongle that comes with the keyboard.

I've also had some quality issues with this gadget. My first one stopped working after two months. The replacement keyboard Logitech sent me works OK, but the keyboard back lighting keeps going out and then coming on again.

I like this device for controlling my HTPC, but I wish it was more reliable.

I've read on some HTPC forum pages that they seem to be laggy, response-wise. Is this part of the connectivity issues most people on this thread are talking about?

I am using the dongle that came with it. I have tried both with and without the AC adapter connected, but always with the battery in. A few more details are that when the problem occurs, whatever key I was pressing at the time gets sent as if I am holding it down - meaning that if I am pressing a, about a million a's will end up getting shown on screen. Also, I am running Ubuntu with Boxee. I seriously doubt using a generic bluetooth dongle would change anything as the backlight on the keyboard shuts off and comes back on when it happens, indicating that the keyboard is probably resetting/restarting or something like that. I am unsure whether I dare buy another one to replace the one I have. Can anybody recommend a different product for controlling an HTPC?

I bought this recently and have been very very pleased with it. Working perfectly now for about 2 months.

The only suggestion I have is to try connecting the dinovo to another bluetooth enabled device (e.g. laptop) and see how it performs there. This will at least give you info if it is the dinovo itself or the dongle.

I only suggest this because I ended up with my dongle going bad which was proven by being able to connect with no problems to other devices. After wrangling with tech support to prove my dongle was bad, they ended up sending me a whole new unit! So, I just bought another bluetooth dongle when it was onsale at newegg so I have two of these now.

I have been using the mini for half a year now, I only had to take the battery out two or three times for reconnecting. Small annoyance maybe, but something I've just learned to accept from wireless devices.

Otherwise no connection problems whatsoever, using stock dongle.

I have been using two of these keyboards for a couple of months, and they have worked perfectly. I am using both of them with Mac Minis, and they never seem to lose a connection or have trouble picking the connection back up after having been asleep for a couple of days.

I've been using 1 of these as my remote for XBMC for the past year & have had no problems with it at all (I'm using the included dongle), battery life is good - gets used most days

I have the diNovo edge, not the mini, but I had some massive problems with it. The trick ended up being to move the usb adapter to one of the front usb ports on the computer, far away from other usb adapters. Works fine now.

I have not had any connection issues with it.

Way better off getting a regular wireless keyboard and mouse for regular PC functionality and a good media center remote for the HTPC side.

The Dinovo mini is a cool toy but not so practical and the arrow pad kinda sucks.

I was using mine from the basement to my TV so I thought it could just be the distance. I ordered a usb extender to move the receiver closer to my sofa and it work great. I know not everyone has this option

I have connectivity issues with this keyboard too, most of the time it works okay but from time to time (~once per 5 usage sessions?) it drops connection, and is only fixed by removing and reinserting the battery. Not sure if sending this back to logitech for replacement will really do anything, since there are still recent reports of this still happening.

I had the same issue with mini ..I use it on a Sony Vaio with built in Bluetooth and windows 7 64bit , what i did was access the device manager and went into the properties for Bluetooth and under power options unchecked the box that read allow this computer to turn off device to save power, after that it seems be working fine no connection issues yet.

I know this is an old question, but I figured since I recently got one and I've had zero connectivity issues in the past 2 or 3 weeks that I've had it. Perhaps build quality has improved? This is connected to my older HP m7760n that runs Windows 7 64-bit.
