Annoying info bar when you turn it on!

When you turn on the TV, there's a black band across the top that shows the inputs like this:

HDMI
Dolby Digital 16.9
1080i HD

And then the time on the right. That's all fine, but it stays up for like 15 sec or so, and you can't change the station until it goes away. Anyone know how to turn it off or change the settings so it doesn't pop up? Is that kind of warm-up screen or something? The picture is up like normal when this happens with sound and everything.

It's my parents TV, and I feel lame for not knowing how to fix it. HALP!

OMG I have the same problem on my 46V4100. I've looked all through the menu for how to turn it off with no luck, I guess some Bravias just don't have the option. Sorry, V!

I posted a link on your Facebook with a link to how to get into service mode it just says Sony TV's so it might be the one for that TV.

Here's a link ~> myweb.accessus.net/~090/sonyadj.html#sony just be careful what you change..most likely there is a timer setting for that display in there but it probably won't be named.

You might have to look up the code for that..if you change anything in there write down the changes just in case :) Also you probably can make that bar more transparent with a setting in there ;)

if you are using hdmi the problem maybe with the handshaking put the set to standby the tv on a non hdmi input and see if the info bar go away. If the timing change then it a handshaking.

by the way there is no software upgrade to fix this issue. you may try the old hard reboot of the set unplug for 30 sec to a minute then try again. I own this set and see it only when using hdmi and direct tv hdmi .
