Amber blinking power light
Has anyone else had a problem with the power light blinking amber and the computer not turning on?
I see that often, most always it's a bad power supply.

It could also be a bad motherboard.

It will be either the Power Supply or mb. Although this was some time ago, a bulging capacitor top on the mainboard could be an indication of faulty components. Many Dell computers experienced a bad batch of capacitors and I had required their service tech's to come out and replace over fifty boards.
The power supplies the often use are barely enough to actually cover the system its installed to. I really don't appreciate this cost cutting on every corner having priority over quality.
