Am waiting for the new MBP refresh before I purchase and don't want to really pay the full Apple going rate if I want the full 8gig (if that's the max…

in the refresh). I've read and followed the links from the Enosone thread and was wondering:
a) is there a UK based company that does similar to macsales.com?
b) will either adding in more memory or swapping out the hard drive invalidate the warranty and do you get any crap from Apple if you send it back in with a fault?

You can add memory without voiding the warranty. I'm pretty sure the same goes for the HD.

As for where to buy ram/hd, in the states I always go to Crucial (www.crucial.com). They have a UK store at www.crucial.com­/uk/ Might want to give them a try
