Am I the only one who bought the 3DS solely to play Ocarina of Time?

I'm sure I'll buy a couple games for it here and there over time. But what really guided my finger to click "buy" on Amazon was the insatiable desire to play the revamped portable version of my favorite game of all time. Anyone else in the same camp?

I'm currently wrestling with myself on whether to purchase it for the exact same reason. I still have my old N64 lying around and that has to be one of my most cherished games.

Whether or not it's somebody's favorite, I think everybody can appreciate it as one of the best crafted games ever, so the thought of a high quality, portable version is more than a worthy temptation for purchasing a device.

Your perfectly sane, and I'll likely end up in the same boat.

I don't have a 3DS either... but this sounds awesome. Ocarina of Time was my favorite Zelda game. 3D stuff typically makes me feel really really sick to my stomach and gives me a headache! I'll have to go look at some screengrabs to see what it looks like.

Veronica, I too can occasionally get sick with 3D content (particular in the theater). But the slider on low makes a "light" 3D effect/depth look really nice for me -- with no headache/queasiness.

i got my 3DS specifically to play Ocarina of time, as well as the ports of Star Fox, Mario Cart 64, and Mario 64.
it seems i will be using it more to play nostalgic games in 3D than any of the new titles. too bad none of them were out at launch, it is just collecting dust till then.

Its one of the only things I am looking forward to at the moment, that and starfox. But i imagine there will be allot of other titles that will be tempting. The launch titles have been very disappointing.

Back in the day I rented a Gamecube from Blockbuster just to play the OoT Masterquest that came with Wind Waker preorders. Does any place rent systems nowdays? Because OoT is the only game I want to play, and I don't want to own a 3DS when I have a DS Lite and XL and all my portable gaming is on iPad these days.

I pretty much got it for ocarina of time, though the buy ocarina of time get another game half off was a good excuse to get the console also. Though my greatest fear is that we end up getting far too much shovelware on the 3DS like one the previous incarnations, except in 3D.

It wasn't my intention but it seems to be my fate ;-(
unless devs come up with some original titles or N makes the dev kits very very cheap and start an open marketplace for games (not likely).

The zelda 3ds bundle is what prompted me to order a 3ds now. My ds lite is beginning to show its wear. I want to support nintendo, and i want them to be successful. The handheld gaming experience on the iphone and ipad is not awesome (aside from a few touch friendly genres); the d-pad beats touch for most games.

Obviously, it's up to nintendo to publish some quality games in the near future, but i'm rooting for them.
