Question about
Am I insane to still want a HP Pre 3 over a Lumia 900?
Having spent quite a bit of time with my Samgsung Focus (WP7), I'm pretty happy with the OS, but the more I use this mobile OS the more I miss webOS. WP7 has numerous features that appear webOS inspired: fast app switching, toasting notifications, even live tiles provide up-to-date information like Palm's cards. So I ask you, gdgt community, is lusting after the HP Pre 3 a sign of mental illness and should I stick with an active platform like WP7?

Far not, webOS was a very nice platform, and also had nice hardware (in my opinion). It just lacked support both from HP and the development community.
Now here is why its time to get rid of your love for it. webOS died in August of 2011. If you get a Pre, the OS and apps are stuck in that time period. Now for comparison sake, Facebook brought in Timeline in early 2012. That is something webOS will never get an update for.
This is just one example of how the web is constantly updating, and it is important to be on a platform that updates with it. webOS apps could effectively be rendered useless as the architecture of sites and services evolve. I am not saying they will, but the possibility remains.
