Question about
After the 10.6.3 update, my external monitor powers down or sleeps frequently.
Not sure exactly what's causing it, but every few minutes my display (Dell U2410, which until now worked just fine) connected via mini-DisplayPort -> full DisplayPort has been going dark and presenting a "no DisplayPort signal" message before going into power saving mode.
This has already happened about ten times today, and showed no signs of stopping, so I moved over to mini-DisplayPort -> DVI dongle -> DVI. Hopefully that will mitigate the issue. Anyone else seen this?

I've got the exact same monitor on a MBP and just updated to 10.6.3, but I'm not having this issue. I'm going through a Mini-DVI to DVI dongle though.
I did have an issue after the update where it reset my colour profile to the default, but that was easily fixed.

I thought I was going crazy, I have a Samsung P2370, old black macbook with old proprietary DVI adapter. And I'm having the same exact issue.
Sometimes it works for a while, usually it shuts on and off. Only, I'm still on 10.6.2

i'm having additional external monitor issues since the update, when i connect to mine, it takes my macbook much longer to recognize it. and i've started having video viewing issues in my browser (chrome) as in video doesn't start period, only audio AND if i pause a video once i get it going, restarting play sometimes takes several seconds, happens in itunes with downloaded content as well. not an improvement at all, thanks apple.

Apple is trying to tell you to get a Cinema Display.
Either way, it looks like a bug or a new power saving technique by Apple.

Did your issue resolve itself? I just started having this issue a few weeks ago. I'm running OSX 10.6.4. My U2410 goes into power save move constantly now. I thought it was the monitor, but it sounds like it might actually be the OS?
