A year after purchase, I've been noticing a couple more lockups on the device, as well as overheating in a couple situations, plus some of the…

paint/coating seeming to come off, and I wanted to ask what other people's experiences are with it. I love my ZuneHD, but I'm slowly treading towards wanting to get a replacement.

I've had my Zune HD since the device was launched. I've noticed occasional lockups, which are typically resolved via hard restarting. I haven't ever seen it overheat. (infrequent)

I'm a little rough on devices, and there's a little bit of paint chipping off of the back.

Personally, I'm currently using a Windows 7 Phone (the HTC HD7) to handle media. WP7 uses the Zune interface for music, and Microsoft's made a couple of changes to the Zune interface which I really like. If you don't mind the "missing" features (honestly, I have yet to encounter a situation where the lack of multitasking or copy/paste has been an issue) making the jump to WP7 gives you the awesome Metro interface, with additional features that really give a much more fulfilling experience. I'm currently getting about a workday's worth of use out of the HD7 when using it as a media player.

Hope that helps.

I've had mine for a while. No major issue other than when I dropped it so it caused some nicks and very minuscule scratches. Apps are still running without a problem though once in a great while it does tend to freeze everything so I just do a soft reset and all is well.
