1 dead pixel is more than ugly on an iPad2 added with the speck of dust or something eating up a precious '4.something' pixels. I always keep looking them.

Is your iPad still in warranty? Your best bet is to take it to your nearest Apple Store and explain the situation to them, show them your iPad and see if they'll replace it.
