A strange 5 digit code flashes briefly on the screen every time I push the end button.
A little background. I've owned the phone for about 3 minutes, got it from ebay. I live in San Francisco, California. Everything about the phone seems fine. Delivers everything it promises (except it doesn't display the date, who knows why). - Sean.

I'm pretty sure that is a carrier code from the international carrier the phone is tied to in the country the sellers are importing them from. Mine was from a seller who was bringing them in from mexico I believe. There doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of the number, but it doesn't affect anything either.
Aside form that odd behavioral quirk, I still never really used it that much. I love the eink display, and how thin/light/durable/minimalist this phone is, but texting was just way too clumsy for me to get any mileage out of it. But, now that I am on Sprint it doesn't really matter anyway.
