It's dead simple, to a fault sometimes, takes decent but not amazing video, and is sleek and pocketable. We'd really have liked to see some improvements to the Mino HD's sensor (as well as the merciless execution of those touch-buttons), but overall it's still a pretty decent cam. quote

Still one of the nicest models available, the second-generation Flip MinoHD offers a slightly improved design, double the memory, and an HDMI output for the same price that the original MinoHD used to cost.

Pure Digital's latest MinoHD is arguably the best-looking pocket camcorder you'll find—but it's also expensive and short on features.

The second-generation Flip MinoHD is the sexiest and most solidly built pocket camcorder we've seen yet, and it backs those refinements up with very good video quality. Highly recommended.

If you are happy to pay for the good looks, the Flip Mino HD will give you good footage in the right conditions. The sound is not great however, and rival devices now offer a wider range of features that make the Flip look a little limited in its offering.

The second outing for the MinoHD is a significant upgrade over the original, even if the core functionality remains the same. Video quality is very slightly better, there’s twice as much storage, it looks more stylish, and the LCD is a big improvement.

A handful of minor upgrades inch the Mino HD forward, but a high price point and lack of features keep it lagging behind competitors.

About Jan 26, 2012

The Flip MinoHD is an ultra-portable pocket camcorder that's unquestionably the easiest to use in the market. It produces decent HD footage but the lens doesn't always keep focus on fast-moving subjects and occasionally struggles in environments with high contrast.

There are a lot of aspects involved with shooting great high definition videos which make it fairly difficult to do. The lighting, the camera angle, the timing, and more all do their best to give any videographer a hard time. The one aspect which no longer has to harry this brave soul, however,...

I bought the Flip minoHD for my wife for Christmas. Hoping that she would spend more time videoing my kids because our mini-dv never gets used. Videoed the kids opening their presents on Christmas morning and everything appeared to be good. When I transfered the video file over to the computer...

This is a great camcorder for casual video recording. Anything more than that is going to require something more professional. The Flip minoHD gets the job done, as long as "the job" is a kid's birthday party or something else you'll want to record in HD at an affordable price.
