Detailed review
This is the Derek Zoolander phone of digital cameras (so far). The size and weight of this thing are smaller than most smartphones. Great for pockets and mounting easily, and the HD coming from this mini-cam is fantastic. It is perfect if you want to catch quick videos and upload them to YouTube or Facebook. The downside is the lack of features that may be a downside for serious recorders.
There is one hour of recording time available. I have not pushed this camera to the limit in terms of storage space.
The FlipShare program that comes with the cam to access the videos is lightweight and easy-to-use after one or two trips to the help manual. The editing software that is integrated into the FlipShare program is simple and effective, but takes a little getting used to.
I have had no issues with battery life either. I have had the camera for about 4 months and have not pushed it too hard, but so far I have not come close to draining the battery.
The biggest downside is the zoom. It is somewhat pitiful and you can't zoom unless you are recording. This means you can't line up a shot or get a test angle while zoomed in. You have to hit record and then zoom in and adjust. You can edit that out later of course, but it seemed odd enough to mention.
The biggest upsides are the price - can get it way under $300 which is very reasonable for the other biggest upside: HD Quality. This thing is pristine when uploaded to computer. I was very surprised at how well it preserves clarity.
