Some of them says that the hold switch on the bottom is for holding the buttons so that you don't accidentally record anything. This is NOT TRUE. The hold button is only for holding the battery lid. DON'T TRUST THE REVIEWS. Otherwise it's a nice product.

Love the HDMI out, which makes for easy viewing. Also nice with the USB plug to get the H264 movie files off for backup. Zoom is sort of a joke, but not crazy bad. Overall, very happy with this purchase. $160 at Costco.
The overall build quality is very solid. The slider mechanism is firm and smooth. One immediately noteworthy aspect is that the white casing is in fact coated metal, as is the silver frame that makes up the case for the slide portion. how happy are you guys with the mino HD? i just got it a couple weeks ago ... i have a couple of minor complaints. 1. it feels like after sundown, this product is useless. i obv knew this when i bought the mino HD but it seems like i've missed out on a lot of things i wanted to record 2. i wish there was adjustable recording quality if possible. i understand simplicity is the key to this product but it would have seemed like a useful option to have. other than that, i'm quite satisfied....
I'm seriously considering picking up a Flip Ultra HD, but was wondering if anyone knew what Pure Digital might have in its pipeline? I'd hate to buy something only to have the latest and greatest next version be released. Anybody privy to what's coming next, and when it'll be here?
I am waiting and waiting for the new iTouch to be released with a camera. I love my Flip camera but the digital zoom is horrible. I don't know if the Touch camera will be updated from the current one available in the iPhone (anybody know? optical zoom please!) but I am interested in hearing from those with both the iPhone and Flip camera and their comparisons in video quality.
I have been looking online for a waterproof case, but can not find any for second gen. The official flip site says they will stock it in 4-8 weeks, but does anyone know where i can get it now?
Is there anything out there with the form factor of the Mino Flip video camera with optical zoom (2x is good enough) and that records in HD? My google searches haven't haven't revealed any such product. Thanks!
I am mainly interested in the Flip because of the portability. I have a camcorder but rarely bother to carry it with me. Is there much trade of in functionality? Stability? How is the sound quality? I mainly shoot 5- 10 minute clips of friends and family.
I generally like the idea of FlipShare and find it pretty useful because I'm lazy and it makes it easier to transfer, organize, and upload videos. But it's been giving me problems, like: * When I close FlipShare, the program doesn't actually close, and I have to go into the Task Manager to shut it down. * If I shut my laptop or it goes into sleep mode while FlipShare is still open, when I bring it back FlipShare will refuse to acknowledge I have a working Internet connection (I have to restart...

I equate the Flip camera to the netbook: It served a portion of the market, but due to limitations it just didn't have a long-term demand. My question is what could Cisco have done to keep Flip cameras relevant? Back when these Flip cameras were coming out, I thought they were pretty amazing. I got this for my birthday a few months ago, and have been experimenting with taking it to conventions and shows to capture video, but the HD goes to waste when I can't keep the camera steady. I'm thinking in investing in a small tripod (which would also keep my hands free to do other things). Any suggestions? I'm currently eyeballing the GorillaPod original. Does anyone have experience with using the GorillaPod with a Flip?
The fact that the Zx3 has flash memory is a positive for me but I just don't know. I really need your help. Which one of these three or do you recommend any others? Budget is about £250.
On almost all of the videos I've shot with my Flip Mino HD video camera, I've gotten this thin, colored band (consisting of all of the colors of the rainbow) stretching across my videos. It sits just a bit below the top of the video. Does anyone else get this on the videos they shoot? My Mino HD is upgraded to the newest firmware.
