I played with it for a while. I used it without internal hdd and played movies with an external USB HDD. Oh - how much "fun" that is. Lets assume you have invited your friends and the movie stopps playing within the last half hour - fun ain´t it? Happened many times. Sent it back 2x....

I got this about a year and a half ago, and at the time I didn't have a receiver. Therefore, I've been transcoding audio to AC3 with the linux script I found on networkmediatank.com's wiki. This worked fine, but getting a proper receiver that decoded DTS, made it a lot simpler....
