One of the reasons I have continued interest in the Que, despite its price, is the promise of Gmail support. This I hope leads to an Android app, Google Docs support and Google Calendar integration. Anybody have any word on this?
Well the price has been announced and the 4GB version will be $649 at start, here's a quote "A 4GB Que with WiFi and enough storage to hold 35,000 documents will retail for $649, while a 8GB version with WiFi, 3G, and enough storage for 75,000 documents will cost $799. I have heard rumbling rumors of Verizon perhaps providing service for this device. Seems like if this e-book reader gets wireless downloading of content, it could really be great. The price point is getting much closer to where I would like it to be, and with touch screen, and lower e-book prices, a wireless connection just may be the thing to put it over the edge for me to buy. Anyone hearing other rumors of this thing getting wireless connectivity?
So the Plastic Logic Ereader--could they give it a name?--is shaping up to be a great device. In all the videos I've seen the screen looks responsive. The touch looks better implemented then Sony's reader. But I can't really comment on that until I can see one in person. The device has got a backing with Barnes & Nobles which is huge. and now AT&T for data.
