- Voice / mic quality Incredible noise-canceling mic. Even in loud environments, it does a great job at filtering out the noise. I've been complimented on how clear/crisp I sound.
- Sound quality These things pump out a ridiculous amount of bass, perhaps even too much. They are excellent at reproducing low and mid-range sound; not so great at high range.
- Comfort The ear cups have a thick ring of padding which is initially quite comfortable, but after a couple of hours your ears start to get sore.
- Durability I've had the DSP-500 for a couple of years. They've fallen off a desk countless times, but everything is still in perfect cosmetic and working order.
- Design and form factor No comments
Detailed review
There's a reason why professional audio guys like Leo Laporte from the TWiT podcast network use and recommend the Plantronics DSP-500 -- the microphone is incredible. Whether you're speaking on a Skype call, recording a podcast, or voice chatting during a game, the mic does an amazing job at canceling out virtually all of the background noise, leaving only the clear sound of your voice.
