Rating
- Image quality Does a good job of rivaling my D-SLR in both good lighting and low light. Excellent color and overall quality.
- Video quality No comments
- Battery life The battery life is very good, though having the GPS on does reduce it noticeably. Still not a problem, batteries are cheap.
- Design and form factor Most buttons are very easy to reach without looking. Having a separate movie button is a huge plus.
- Durability Drop in the water or on concrete, no problem.
- Speed (start-up time, lag) No comments

Detailed review
I bought this to replace an older Olympus 770SW. Actually I bought the Olympus TG-810 first, but found it very difficult to use and dissapointing. The Panasonic is far better on most specs, and overall the usability is far superior.
I spend a lot of time on our boat in the summer, and depend on the waterproofing and ruggedness of this camera. It goes in the water all the time and has had a few drops onto the deck with no noticeable issue of any kind.
Works great with the Eye-fi card.
The GPS function means I no longer have to add geo data myself or use a third-party GPS logger then sync the data. When the photos are imported into Aperture or iPhoto, they are geolocated automatically.
