New Firmware 2.0 - any video updates? any problems with non-OEM batteries?
details
I see they just released firmware 2.0. http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download... Anyone upgraded yet? I'm worried about it locking out my non-OEM batteries. Also, it doesn't list any video mode updates, but I'm going to be shooting a bunch of video in the coming weeks so it might be worth it to me to update if the video mode allowed zooming while shooting, or locking exposure, for example. What is your experience with the new 2.0 firmware?

Looks like Canon is scared of the Lumix LX-3
details
Canon realized that they alienated a whole segment of the market when they stopped making the S-series cameras! In my opinion Canon got a little cocky in the past few years when they stopped listening to customers with the S-series and G-series cameras and instead started dictating features in order to artificially segment the market (e.g. with RAW support, megapixel wars, etc). I'm happy that we now have more options in the camera market. Competition benefits everyone! Is anybody...

Lost My Camera - Considering This One... What should I know?
details
Alright, so I've put most of my day into research, and I've mostly settled on the LX3. My previous point and shoot was a Casio EX-Z1000, not the greatest thing ever, but perfectly suitable for carrying in my pocket, it left me wanting in a few areas though. Anti-Shake - My hands are shaky as hell, and the sheer amount of caffeine I consume can't help :-p Low-Light/Night Photos - The sheer amount of grain was unbearable Focus/shutter control - Well, it didn't really have any.... Panasonic RAW/RW2 support in Apple Aperture?
details
I've looked around for resources on this but haven't found any: it appears that Apple's RAW support does not extend to the RW2 files this camera produces when shooting raw files. I know that I could use Photoshop instead but I like Aperture. Does anyone know of a workaround that doesn't involve downconverting to TIFF? Maybe an app exists that would convert Panasonic RW2 to a more standard RAW format without losing the metadata? If an Apple engineer is reading this, please give us...

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX4 coming anytime soon?
details
I loved my LX3 but ended up selling it in hopes of a micro 4/3 equivalent. A camera like this with an SLR-type sensor would be an instant classic. So what's the scoop? Anyone hear any rumors? I've only been able to find some unofficial prototypes here: http://www.lx3-photography.com/2009/02/lx4-3d-prot...
