Panasonic's DMC-GX1 is a solid option for anyone committed to Micro Four Thirds interchangeable-lens compact (ILC) cameras. The camera is fast, responsive, customizable, performs well in low-light situations, and has a touchscreen LCD. It also has a pop-up flash and hot shoe to add a more powerful flash (or an external viewfinder) — features not included on all ILCs. However, if you're considering your first ILC, there may be better options, including the Sony α NEX-5N a gdgt recommended model.
