My assumption is that Verizon's the best way to go given AT&T's coverage in SF, but I don't hear nearly as many complaints about AT&T today as even a few months ago. So what's the lodown, SF? Still worthwhile to go with VZ, or is AT&T finally acceptable? Or is this all a game of Russian Roulette either way?
I'm getting ready to say goodbye to Palm, and I've been trying to back up the memos and tasks from the handset to the PC. I haven't synced the Pre in a very long time. I've tried Chapura and CompanionLink in attempts to sync, but neither of them synced the memos and tasks from the handset. Of course Palm desktop won't communicate with the Pre. I used to have an app that would download the 30 second mp3 samples from Amazon MP3 and let me set it as a phone ringtone. Then they said they had to nix the feature for making it your ringtone automatically and now it's gone entirely (I must've lost it when I got a replacement phone from Sprint in the winter). Is that app totally gone?
I want to use it mostly as a messaging featurephone, and I want to try to put together an application or two on it. I'm mostly worried about responsiveness and battery life.
OK, I acknowledge that this might be a weird situation, but here's the deal: I currently own the (rerrible, terrible) Samsung Instinct, and am up for a 2-year renewal at Sprint. I've had the opportunity to spend a few days with the WP7 platform, and like it a lot, but I'm not 100% sold on it. I have also tried Android, and it's not for me. what are some essential apps for the pre. one i'm definitely downloading/paying for is the app to control itunes (remote something? forgot name right now). apps i use on android right now: facebook official twitter evernote listen shopsavvy my tracks shazam iheartradio any replacements for these? thanks! excited to use webOS
So earlier this week my Pre did something weird: all of the app icons disappeared, save for the 4 at the quick launch part of the screen. While I could still universal-search an app and launch it, whenever I would attempt to open the main launcher I would be greeted by a gray translucent screen. I recently wiped my Pre to install 1.3.5, then upgraded to 1.3.5.1, but I noticed a significant number of contacts not syncing at all from my Google account. It's only pulling in roughly 1/3 or 98 of my contacts and even then, it's not pulling in all contact information. For instance, it'll pull in an email address, but nothing else. I even removed all my accounts, email, IM and contacts to re-add then, but haven't had any luck. Anyone else seeing this issue? I don't want to...

Recently I had the problem that the power button on my phone stopped working. I can press it and press it, but to no avail. This happened to a buddy of mine, and then one day it started working again. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be possible that the same thing is happening with my power button that has happened to other peoples volume rockers? Could it just be that I have some dust in their and that spraying it with a can of air to clean it out might just fix the problem?
I have the Palm Pre and I love it. But there's these little glitches that seem to bug me here and there. For starters my Speaker seems to be muffled and it sounds like it's on it's lowest volume setting although the phone indicates it is on it's highest volume setting. I took the back plate off to see if there was any dirt or what not visible that I could remove but there was nothing I could do to get the sound back to when I first bought it.. My freshly downloaded copy of webOS 1.3.1 has just downloaded and is currently installing itself. As soon as I can I am going to test it against all of the known bugs that I am aware of and post the results. Based on the support page on Sprint (the Bell page has not been updated) it looks like the Calendar bugs are addressed as well as the Exchange issues.
For the entire "redundant hour" (when Daylight Savings officially ends at 2am, the clock resets to 1am, and we have the 1am to 2am hour a second time), my GPS wouldn't work and thought I was in Bethesda, Maryland. As soon as it was after 2am, it went back to finding me in the right place. GPS timing code FAIL?
I'm with Bell Mobility, got the Pre a week or so ago... Ran into this problem when trying to open a below mentioned website through the browser: "Unable To Load Page http://www.vkontakte.ru/ Unable to resolve host. [2006]" So far this was the only website my Pre wasn't able to open. The weird thing is... If I switch to Wi-Fi - it opens just fine. The browser has all the default settings... Anyone have any ideas?
