So, while this is a good all-round performer, there's nothing overly exciting about it that gives it a niche selling point - it'd be nice to see Olympus experimenting a bit more in this area of the market.

The camera itself feels very much like a premium device, and it's attractive to boot.

Overall the smaller and lighter XZ-10 felt great in the hand. It might not have the top-spec features such as a hotshoe or larger-than-average sensor, but assuming image quality can match up to what looks to be a top-notch lens then it should be a quality little compact.

Compared with the XZ-2, the XZ-10's autofocus felt slightly slower. In terms of responsiveness, both cameras performed similarly ... Considering that the unit we tested was a prototype, we will reserve further judgement until we have reviewed a commercial unit of the XZ-10.

Although we've been unable to assess the image quality offered by the XZ-10, we're pretty confident that it will do a good job, and it's undoubtedly a very stylish offering.
