As an extension speaker for smartphones, MP3 players, and computers, the Cube is truly superb. No, it’s not going to give you room-filling sound or big bass (or any bass, for that matter), but it does deliver shockingly clear midrange and treble.

The Nuforce Cube is a cute little speaker, but it's too pricey and doesn't sound good enough to make its home on your desk.

If you want an attractive, decent sounding mini-speaker, the cube is definitely worth consideration. But only if size matters. For the same price, you can get a still-portable iPod dock that delivers bigger audio.

NuForce's Cube, for now, is a unique little product that we're happy to recommend to those travelers and outdoorsy types that need a compact, great sounding speaker.

The NuForce Cube Portable Speaker combines portability and technology that makes it well suited as the external audio source for a laptop or mobile device... the price isn’t such a shocker, when you compare what it has and how it functions, compared to others in its size and weight class.

If you're expecting night and day difference in audio quality while using the Cube's USB DAC and headphone amp, you'll be sorely disappointed. With that said, we think that the Cube as a speaker is without a shadow of a doubt one of the more capable micro-sized portable mono speaker you can get.
