Criteria Comments Rating
  • Reception and call quality No dropped calls due to weak signal; call quality very clear, even without noise cancellation. great!
  • Display AMOLED is bright, with good colour saturation, but can be difficult to see in strong sunlight. good
  • Battery life Good for a 3.5" smartphone; I can manage between 2 and 3 days on one charge. But Nokia could have squeezed a 1500MAh battery in there, I'm certain ;-) good
  • Camera No comments
  • Ease of use Long-time Symbian user so I know my way around. Symbian^3 is an easy adjustment. good
  • Design and form factor It's a thing of beauty. Every so often I take it out of its case just to look at it - how many gadgets can I say that about? Very few. great!
  • Portability (size / weight) Sits nicely in trouser pocket and doesn't get in the way. great!
  • Media support Plays pretty much any music format. great!
  • Durability Aluminium chassis with mineral glass front - built like a tank. great!
  • Ecosystem (apps, accessories, etc.) Ovi (Nokia) Store is getting better all the time. Qt has done wonders for app development; devs are realising there's proper money to be made on Symbian. good
Detailed review
A beautiful gadget; well made and durable.

For:
Design and build
Solid operating system
Nokia Maps
Screen
Camera (awesome - it really is as good as everyone says it is)
USB on-the-go
Good GPS
HDMI out
Decent music playback quality via headphones
Decent battery life
The best Symbian phone ever

Against:
Symbian Anna not released yet (May 2011); still waiting for QWERTY in portrait and a decent native browser
Niggle: album covers end up in the image gallery application
Google services interaction is difficult and poor
