Had this phone come out earlier this year, during what we might refer to as the pre-EVO era, its 720p video, spectacular camera, and high-end construction would have returned Nokia to the title of smartphone leader all on their lonesome.

The N8 puts the Nseries back to the top where it belongs. Nokia can be proud but they must know it’s just the beginning. Right now they have a winning cameraphone set in pole position. It will be a while before they have one phone to rule them all, if ever. quote

The Nokia N8 excels as a camera phone, and the improvements of Symbian 3 make it one of the company's best smartphones to date. However, it still has its shortcomings and an expensive price tag, making it a hard sell for the North American market.
Read the full review →Had the N8 launched at the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010, before the explosion of Android slate devices and the iPhone 4, the N8 would have clearly been the best smartphone with little competition.

Read the full review →With MeeGo (or, indeed, Android) the N8 could’ve been a clear winner; with Symbian^3, Nokia has to persuade users that the N8′s undoubtable abilities outweigh its particular compromises.
Read the full review →The N8 is the slimmest, best-looking and most usable Nokia touchscreen phone yet. But, sadly, it's still not that great.
Read the full review →The Nokia N8 is a good smartphone, a very good smartphone - but it feels like a well-optimised touchscreen version of older handsets rather than the superphone reboot Nokia needs.

Read the full review →The N8's not perfect - far from it. But its unique selling points are... so unique that its other 'flaws' (mainly in software - UI and cloud integration, rather than in hardware) can be readily overlooked.
Read the full review →Nokia's N8 has a fantastic camera and crisp screen, but its slow processor and Symbian operating system hold the device back from mainstream success.
Read the full review →Every time I pick up the N8 I think to myself how amazing it would be if the beautifully-designed Windows Phone 7 was running on this beautifully-designed Nokia hardware. Maybe someday we'll see.
Read the full review →So no doubt Nokia created one of a great hardware. After several half baked models (I meant N97s), I think this time they finally have the hardware right. Great form factor and quality for a phone. Awesome built-in camera. With most reviews out there, I tend to agree with the short comings on...
Read the full review →Ah Nokia, Nokia. I have a soft spot for the convoluted Symbian 3. I like digging around. Won't even start with how amazing the camera is, but some other great things are the size in general, the solid feel of the thing, the above-average battery life, the plethora of features including FM...
Read the full review →I owned an Nokia N8 for 1.6 years. On average I spent at least one or two hours per day with it. There are good and bad about this phone. Some of the reviews out there do not do justice to the phone. Overall the phone is as good as praised by allaboutsymbian, mynokiablog and other sites. The...
Read the full review →Although the N8 is a secondary/hobby phone for me, I do love the times I carry it. The camera is simply amazing, as is the picture and video editing suites. Widgets are useful and not overbearing. The Anna update, while minor, has breathed new life into the platform. All in all, a good device...
Read the full review →The biggest downfall for this phone is the operating system, Symbian 3 is just clunky and frustrating compared to other mobile touch operating systems. I'm hoping for a Symbian 4 OS update – that would certainly ease the pain. Camera is good, but I can’t seem to find the Macro...
Read the full review →The reason you get the N8 is for the great hardware, the reason you would want to avoid the N8 is the software. If you have used and enjoyed Android or iOS than using Symbian will be really hard. But even with disliking using the software the camera is so good that it made me forget the phone's...
Read the full review →I bought the N8 because (despite being an OS junkie and wanting to try out either WebOS or Android) it did what I wanted: great quality video, huge range media of support, a good phone (remember that Smartphone feature?!), ability to play from attached USB drive, great battery life etc. I haven't...
Read the full review →It's a phone who'll satisfy the need of any camera lovers, although Nokia 808 Pureview topple it down from it's throne..
