We imagine Nokia's attempting to place the 720 as a mid-range device, but what's fundamentally wrong with the handset is that it represents slowly aging hardware in a pretty dress, with a few catchy slogans attached.

Nokia Lumia 720 Hands-on
Conclusion: We like it
The Nokia Lumia 720 is a mid-range phone that may not have a camera to compete with its more advanced sibling, but it still sports Nokia's ClearBlack display, as well as a striking design. Slashgear says the Lumia 720 is "one of the more pleasing handsets to look at and hold." Even with the ClearBlack display, the resolution is still on the low side, which Pocket-Lint called "a little grainy." Nokia's PureView is not included in the camera, but TechRadar was still impressed, saying "image quality on the whole is pretty good," but that photos "can be a little rough round the edges, especially in places with variable lighting." One area Nokia didn't skimp on is the battery, as Engadget says you can "get a day of heavy usage out of it," and TrustedReviews found "with moderate use we coasted through a day and half without a charge." The Lumia 720 isn't the most exciting phone available right now, and Windows Phone still suffers from a weaker app selection than its iOS and Android competitors, but as Pocket-Lint puts it, "it is a nice comfortable phone to use day-to-day."

Theres a lot to like about the Nokia Lumia 720. As a device, the design is fantastic and the build quality is great. It might not be the slimmest, or boast the greatest specs, but it is a nice comfortable phone to use day-to-day.
Read the full review →We really like the Lumia 720. Nokia has made a well-balanced smartphone which could be exactly what Windows Phone 8 needs. It offers decent performance at a more than decent price.
Read the full review →In some ways, the Lumia 720 is everything we’ve asked for from Nokia. It’s slickly designed and has superlative battery life, the camera out-performs rivals in the same price bracket, and the screen – though lower resolution than we like – is a nice compromise of size ... and clarity.
Read the full review →We really like the Nokia Lumia 720, it's a great all round smartphone and while it doesn't do enough for us to love it, we would seriously recommend it.
Read the full review →The Nokia Lumia 720 is a good-looking phone that offers the snappy performance you can expect of a Windows Phone 8 device. We’d like to see it sell a little under its standard retail price thanks to its ageing screen technology, given a more bitter edge by the still-limited apps ... selection.
Read the full review →A lovely mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset, but we don’t think it offers enough over the cheaper Lumia 620.

Hold it in-hand and you'll immediately notice its weight is evenly distributed, so it doesn't register as heavy, despite its 2,000mAh battery.
Overall, then, the 720 seems like a decent choice for casual phone users: it looks nice, feels zippy enough for light work like browsing and Facebook, and offers a winning little camera to boot.
Read the full preview →Once again, the high-quality build and bright colors are very Nokia ... It has a 4.3-inch, curved glass Clear Black display, but again, the resolution is on the low side, at just 800-by-480 pixels. And since this display is larger than the 520's, it's actually less sharp.
Read the full preview →The form factor feels very good. It's light and comfortable, and retains the quality feel that the other Lumias have. With a higher spec, in particular a better screen resolution, this would be the must-have Lumia.
Read the full preview →The Nokia 720, considered to be at the higher-end of the lineup, feels more like a midrange device. It does, however, have some great imaging features bundled.
Read the full preview →It's also pretty lightweight, tipping the scales at 128g although we did find that it hand the tendency to slide out of our hand when we were trying to photograph it.
Read the full preview →The viewing angles are excellent and there's barely a reflection under the expo light, meaning it should perform well outside, too, since the display looks sufficiently bright.
The Lumia 720 doesn't have the high end features we've come to expect from the more expensive Lumias but it does have a decent spec sheet for something that's bound to be available on next-to-nothing contracts.
Read the full preview →Although it’s more of a tweak of the Lumia 820 than a revolution, the Nokia Lumia 720 makes a lot of the right moves. The most important of the lot is price.
Read the full preview →Picking up the Lumia 720, you can’t help but be impressed by the care Nokia took with building a budget phone. The phone’s body has the smooth contours and the same compact unibody design that made the flagship Lumia 920 such a solid device.
Read the full preview →The Finnish phone maker maintained the general design guidelines we’re already familiar with from previous Lumia phones, however, tweaking them further with subtle changes.
