Conclusion: We're mixed

The Nokia 808 PureView has the best camera ever included on a cellphone, and can shoot pictures you can't get with any other phone — or even with many cameras. Unfortunately, that camera is held back by a phone that runs an outdated operating system, has limited tools for sharing or editing photos, has a low-resolution display, and is bulky in comparison to most recent phones. If you buy the PureView to use as a unique camera with cellphone features, you're unlikely to be disappointed show more

The Nokia 808 PureView is the best cameraphone out there, but you'll have to be willing to forgo the of simplicity, function and comfort of competing smartphones if you intend to own it.

As a cameraphone, the Nokia blows its competition out of the water, and significantly narrows the gap between dedicated cameras and portable communications devices to the point where ultimate convergence seems all but inevitable.

The Nokia 808 PureView is the most exciting smartphone on the market that you shouldn’t buy. It may not be the best device for viewing photos, but it completely outperforms other smartphones in actual photo-taking. Symbian is an outdated, glitchy piece of a software nightmare.

The Nokia 808 PureView's 41-megapixel camera is a rocket strapped to a rollerskate. It easily trumps all the better smart phone cameras out there, including the iPhone 4S and the HTC One X. But the Symbian operating system has its limitations.

Few people will actually go out and buy it themselves, but then the 808 is really a test bench for PureView technology, a proof-of-concept.

The 808 Pureview: In typical Nokia style of these days, it's excellent quality. Design is excellent and ergonomics is excellent. Call quality is impeccable and so is cellular reception. The major selling point, the 41MP camera, is quite unmatched compared to all other camera phones. I think due...

Overall that's the best Symbian phone you could get. Performance and responsiveness can be compared to Android and iOS devices and to my surprise it is quite pleasant to use it.
