Quite surprised to find that there's absolutely no mention of Nokia's Play 360 wireless speaker here. Just tried my friend's unit today and I must say I'm blown away. Hi, I have just seen on a UK cell phone website that Nokia's Lumia 900 is set be released here in the UK in the month of May. I am currently in the middle of my contract and am considering buying the device outright.
I have one question though - Shoudl I buy the Nokia Lumia 900, or should I just wait until the end of the year to see Niokia's Windows Phone 8 (codename Apollo)?

So after reading several glowing reviews and seeing a the hardware up close, I am dying to get this phone and some Meego action. I was still on my original Sprint Pre when HP decided to murder webOS, and at the time I went and did a Pre 2 Sprint conversion and planned on just using that indefinitely. But now.... So am I just a glutton for dead OS punishment, or are others itching for this phone as well? Pretty much the only thing stopping me is the extreme cost. eBay was showing around 700-800...

Nokia just released their new "dubstep" ringtone that was chosen by their fans on Facebook. It's ~20 seconds of some pretty hair raising sounds. Then again, maybe I'm just getting old.

Nokia tried the whole gaming thing with the N-Gage and admittedly it was a huge failure though not enough to stop them from making a second generation. Also at its time mobile phone gaming just was not where it is today. They would benefit from the success that Xbox Live has. I just finished talking to a good a friendwho always made fun of me for buying both N-Gages and it made me think about how the N-Gage could possibly just have been way ahead of its time. Think about it. Part of the reason why the iPhone took off so well was because of games. People today are playing more and more games on their phones. It feels solid, lots of apps and games (yea Apple doesn't introduce apps) and I like this model than the iterated ugly QD sibling. Those were the days. I miss this phone now.
Also Symbian has jumped long leap forward since my previous Symbian phone, Nokia 5800. In my opinion keyboard is much better than one in my BB Curve 8520, which is my main buying point.
I love my Nokia N9 .. it's amazing device with very good OS .. but I also love Windows Phone, and when I saw Lumia 800 I thought about replacing it. Some friends told me not to do so, because it would be considered a downgrade .. so I'm confused .. what you guys think?
I just looked and it seems that the price on Amazon for both of these phones unlocked have reached about the same price. I really like both of these phones but don't know which of the two I would like better. I currently use an iPhone 4S, but want some variety, and an unlocked smartphone.

My dad needs a new phone. He likes the ability of todays smartphones to be synced all the time but does not want to pay for a data plan. I've been loving me test drive of windows 8. it's smoother than windows 7. But... All the features that make it really worth having are for a touch screen. It's amazing how much things can change in such a relatively short period of time. Back in 2006 the big players were Nokia, RIM, Microsoft (with Windows Mobile), and Palm. Now every single one is struggling. Also serves as a reminder that no matter how high Apple and Google are riding right now, it is still a volatile business and it's not hard to imagine two or three other companies emerging in the next five years to seriously challenge them (like Facebook, for instance).
Nokia just officially announced a Meego phone called the N9 few days ago ( http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/20/nokias-n9-offic... ) and I wanted to add it to the site, but it we already have this N9. Is Nokia just crazy naming two different devices the same thing or was there a name change at some point for the "original" N9?
I'm planning on getting a Windows phone on AT&T. The Samsung Focus is only $50 in store and $0.01 on Amazon. I don't really want to spend more than $100 because this is going to be a secondary phone to my iPhone 4. Should I get the Samsung Focus next month or wait to see what the second generation hardware brings? I'm kind of wanting to see what Nokia brings.
I am a developer but have never done any development on Linux, but I think I am going to have fun with this phone / computer. Only concern I have is that will any messing-around with the software or the OS affect the radiation levels (SAR) when using the phone for voice calls? It's an interesting question to ask now that the tablet space is finally picking up steam after all these years of failed attempts. Nokia surely wasn't the only company experimenting with tablets over the last decade, but they were certainly among the most prominent handset makers to try the form factor on for size, and they were always smart enough not to follow Microsoft down its numerous blind alleys (see: Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, UMPCs, etc.).
