While it isn't revolutionary, the Wii Zapper is a great Wii accessory--and for the price, you really are getting an excellent value.

"It just feels more fun" is a wooly reason to recommend the Wii Zapper when the Wii Remote and Nunchuk work perfectly fine on their own - especially considering the Wii Zapper is both less accurate and less comfortable.

It's tough to say that the Zapper makes the game better in any way--you can play just fine without it, and you won't really feel like you're holding a crossbow.

The telling issue will be how long owners will care to use it before abandoning the bracket altogether in favor of free hand shooting. We suspect not long.

Due to some obtuse design decisions and Nintendo's family-friendly approach of making sure it doesn't really look like a gun, the Zapper lacks even the ergonomic prowess of its 22-year-old father.
