This is a great console, if you're the right person. This is really fun to bust out at family parties or while baby sitting your nieces and nephews. But all in all this is a gimmick console, if you don't enjoy pointing with the wand this is not for you. The game library is rather pitiful. Most major... Read the full review →
Dispite proving more popular than a cold drink on a hot day, the Nintendo Wii has gotten a bad rap. Fans of the PS3 and XBOX360 have constantly stated that it's outdated graphics, last generation hardware and family friendly tone don't make it a serious contender as a genuine games... The best games on the Wii have short learning curves and can be played by anyone. Whether racing or tennis or dancing the games are all simple enough for anyone to pick them up and play as part of a group, during a party and not worry about someone being able to figure it out easily. The Wii brings... Read the full review →
It's useless. No games come out for it worth buying, renting, requesting from publishers, testing...nothing. I've got a few games for it, a few Mario Kart wheels, the Motion Plus add-ons, four Wiimotes, a Nyko charge base, a damned Wii Fit board...all for nothing. It's brilliant what... I love the Wii, though I am a Nintendo fan all the way. I was so happy that they added a download feature for older games. The internet is a little annoying with the controls available, but I doubt I'd ever use it even if they were great. I really like the wii-mote, though I use both the old... Read the full review →
The Wii starts off as a lot of fun. The bundled Wii Sports is a terrific title and really does a terrific job of showing off the motion control. However, the simple games of Wii Sports get old pretty quickly. Punch Out is pretty terrific as well. However, most everything else seems like a miss. I... Read the full review →
Nintendo had themselves a hit back in the day. With a name like Revolution and an innovative control system, what could go wrong? Everything. When I purchased my console on the day it was released (27 hours I waited), I figured I was one of the few who would proudly own this new console seeing as... Read the full review →
I sold my wii for multiple the main of which was the severe lack of games availiable for the wii compared to other systems. i have purchased mario kart, galaxy, re4, paper mario, zelda, brawl etc but other than the 10 to 15 big titles which have been out for over a year already this console really... I loved my Wii the first 9-12 months i had it. But the novelty of the motion controls grew tiresome and the lack of great games was the last straw. You need a lot of room and a good amount of people for this system to reach its potential. Maybe if my kids were older it would be more fun. Sold mine... Read the full review →
I used to love Nintendo (who didn't?), but the Wii is Wiik. Sure, things like Wii sports/games are fun for a little while and the Lego franchise games are good, but they all get very old very quickly. The Wii is a niche item that maybe you should have around for when little kids and/or old... Read the full review →

Nintendo's latest entry in the console market may be a runaway financial success, but it's buoyed mostly by the "casual" gaming audience. The trouble with this is that if you're a core gamer, like most probably reading this, you're going to be starved for games to play. From the sales numbers of... Read the full review →
I've had a Wii since the day it was released in American, and I've been nothing but pleased with it. The multiplayer aspects are second to none, especially because I have real-world friends who want a fun, easy-to-play experience, like Smash Brothers or the Price is Right. I'm not... I understand the argument that the Wii compared to the 360 and PS3 is underpowered, but like the Mac vs. PC wars of the the late 90's and early 2000's, it really comes down to what do you need it for. Graphically, I don't feel I'm being let down compared to the others. I've... Read the full review →
When we got the Wii I thought it would be awkward and not such a great video game console. We had just moved up to the Wii from the Sony PSII. So, far I can say our family loves it! I really enjoy how I can play old arcade favorites and download titles to play right to the Wii! The kids love the... Read the full review →
My first game console was the Intellivision; my parents won it in a can a Pringles. Then I had the NES, followed by the PlayStation, GameGear, XBOX, and a DS Lite. All of those consoles/handhelds taught me one thing: I am not a gamer. Despite what I had learned, I decided that this new-fangled Wii... Read the full review →
High quality hardware. Cool industrial design. A bit too family oriented, although that often leads to innovative untraditional games like Wii Fit or Wario Ware. Nintendo's traditional game characters are back in full force with outstanding games like Mario Galaxy , Zelda and Mario Kart Wii.... Read the full review →
The Wii console is a nice little package. The games lean towards group play and it helps get you off the couch and active. The games while somewhat cheesy are fun and addicting. The motion controls are a very inovative and cool feature. The price tag is much nicer than the Next Gen Consoles (PS3 and... Read the full review →
Great system to own to play with friends and family. Gets boring if you play alone. The games on the system is targeted towards the younger audiences. The games are fun, yet require too much energy such as swinging the controller, and jumping around. Although very fun, I personally just like to sit,... Read the full review →
Nintendo tried to do something different when they created the Wii by focusing on the casual gaming market. Instead of creating a graphical powerhouse like Sony and Microsoft did, they decided to focus more on making games more fun for the average non-gaming person. The Wii seemed like a great... I own all three systems, I play all three and have a lot of experience with all as well. I must say that the Wii would be classified as the lowest game console for me, if a gamer were the potential buyer. I would request the Wii console only if the individual has a large integrated family, or many... Read the full review →
I want to start off on a positive. It should be noted that Nintendo and a small handful of developers put out some very killer apps for the Wii. Barring Wii Music, everything Nintendo has released themselves so far is gold and much of their efforts still rank high on the NPDs. The same cannot be... Read the full review →
This is a new kind of system and can't be evaluated the way many of the other systems are. It is not a system for the teenagers I teach who want to spend hours inside their bedrooms eating potato chips and drinking Red Bull while they underachieve in high school and college. This a a system... Read the full review →
I received this for Christmas this year and really enjoy the system. It is fun to play and great for parties. The sports games that come with it are fun and easy to learn. Another fun part are the Mii's, characters you create for yourself or freinds. I also had downloaded some games from the... Read the full review →
The Wii is a great system at parties and with friends but when you take that impromptu sick day it becomes boring and lackluster. It was billed as a casual gaming platform but it is more of a social gaming system. I don't want to be physically drained after playing a game; I want to beat a... Read the full review →
It lacks the graphical prowess and rich media features of the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but the Nintendo Wii's combination of unique motion-sensitive controllers and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.
At $250, the affordable Wii is half or less of the price of the $500 and $600 versions of the PlayStation 3. True, the PS3 has superior graphics and a SixAxis motion-sensitive controller, but for casual gamers these features may be overkill--and for many more the PS3 package may be too expensive. If you have $250 and a group of friends at the ready, or if you're looking to buy an affordable, fun console for yourself or your kids, get a Wii.
While it's relatively inexpensive and perhaps even more innovative than competing consoles, the Nintendo Wii is best for families with small children, or those who like to game in groups. For everyone else, be an adult and get an adult console.
Although the graphics aren't up to what gamers will be expecting for a next generation console, the gameplay and its interactivity will have you jumping around the living room with joy
