If you don't mind the dearth of HD graphics, the Nintendo Wii's combination of motion-sensitive controllers, included Wii Sports titles, and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.

Conclusion: We're mixed
There's no small amount of love and nostalgia for Nintendo and everything it does -- especially when most of what Nintendo does is upgrade its consoles and re-release the same kinds of games. The Wii represented hope for the future of gaming, but as it turns out that vision has gotten lost in the mix as game consoles have adopted far more advanced features, graphics, and motion capturing-controllers (like the Kinect).

If you have $250 and a group of friends at the ready, or if you're looking to buy an affordable, fun console for yourself or your kids, get a Wii.
Read the full review →The Nintendo Wii is a fun, engaging, wildly innovative game console that's dramatically different from the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and way more affordable, too.
Read the full review →While those who care a lot about graphics and eye candy will be turned off by the last-gen looks of the system, people who are simply interested in a good time will find a lot to like here. From hardcore gamers to people who have never picked up a controller, this is truly something new.
Read the full review →While it's relatively inexpensive and perhaps even more innovative than competing consoles, the Nintendo Wii is best for families with small children, or those who like to game in groups. For everyone else, be an adult and get an adult console.
Read the full review →Nintendo has shown that you don't need to be big, brash and powerful to have a good time. The graphics might not be up to what gamers will be expecting for a next generation of console, but the gameplay and its interactivity will have you jumping around the living room for joy.
Read the full review →I encourage you to go out and get one, even if you're also planning to buy Microsoft's Xbox 360 or Sony's PlayStation 3. Just be careful, because Wii is physical.
Read the full review →A new type of gaming system has hit the industry. If the Xbox 360 and PS3 are Lamborghinis, the Wii is a Mini Cooper. It will never win a speed race. It will never be the flashiest. But it's something that appeals to people who might not take notice otherwise - and it's a heck of a lot of fun.
Read the full review →My first game console was the Intellivision; my parents won it in a can a Pringles. Then I had the NES, followed by the PlayStation, GameGear, XBOX, and a DS Lite. All of those consoles/handhelds taught me one thing: I am not a gamer. Despite what I had learned, I decided that this new-fangled...
Read the full review →High quality hardware. Cool industrial design. A bit too family oriented, although that often leads to innovative untraditional games like Wii Fit or Wario Ware. Nintendo's traditional game characters are back in full force with outstanding games like Mario Galaxy , Zelda and Mario Kart...
Read the full review →The Wii console is a nice little package. The games lean towards group play and it helps get you off the couch and active. The games while somewhat cheesy are fun and addicting. The motion controls are a very inovative and cool feature. The price tag is much nicer than the Next Gen Consoles (PS3...
Read the full review →Great system to own to play with friends and family. Gets boring if you play alone. The games on the system is targeted towards the younger audiences. The games are fun, yet require too much energy such as swinging the controller, and jumping around. Although very fun, I personally just like to...
Read the full review →Nintendo tried to do something different when they created the Wii by focusing on the casual gaming market. Instead of creating a graphical powerhouse like Sony and Microsoft did, they decided to focus more on making games more fun for the average non-gaming person. The Wii seemed like a great...
Read the full review →I own all three systems, I play all three and have a lot of experience with all as well. I must say that the Wii would be classified as the lowest game console for me, if a gamer were the potential buyer. I would request the Wii console only if the individual has a large integrated family, or...
Read the full review →I want to start off on a positive. It should be noted that Nintendo and a small handful of developers put out some very killer apps for the Wii. Barring Wii Music, everything Nintendo has released themselves so far is gold and much of their efforts still rank high on the NPDs. The same cannot be...
Read the full review →This is a new kind of system and can't be evaluated the way many of the other systems are. It is not a system for the teenagers I teach who want to spend hours inside their bedrooms eating potato chips and drinking Red Bull while they underachieve in high school and college. This a a...
Read the full review →I received this for Christmas this year and really enjoy the system. It is fun to play and great for parties. The sports games that come with it are fun and easy to learn. Another fun part are the Mii's, characters you create for yourself or freinds. I also had downloaded some games from the...
Read the full review →The Wii is a great system at parties and with friends but when you take that impromptu sick day it becomes boring and lackluster. It was billed as a casual gaming platform but it is more of a social gaming system. I don't want to be physically drained after playing a game; I want to beat a...

Read the full review →The wii is ok. It has many downsides such as the poor sensivity controllers, the relativly small game library, the not all that great online features, all major issues. The only reason it doesn't get a 5, (or lower) is because there are some fun-ish things for it. The first time you play...
Read the full review →The Wii is an entertaining console make no mistake, and certainly was on to something with it's channels (one only needs to look at Microsoft's recent update to the Xbox 360 to see that they agree). The games for this, while not as graphically pretty as the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3, are fun...
Read the full review →Beside that can be very dangerous if wiimotes fly in the air and end up in tv screen ;-) Graphics are like a tiny bit updated GameCube, PS2 games look much better. But not all is in graphics as we know. WiiMotionPlus shoulda have been integrated from start in wiimotes, that a big mistake. Cpu...
Read the full review →I held off buying a gaming console for my 3 children for a long time. I decided on the Wii because we didn't need or want many of the features of the others, e.g., the XBox. It's turned out to be an excellent decision as all of my children enjoy it, the graphics are just fine for those...
