Talk of the next generation of home consoles is starting to appear on nearly every video game website. It got me thinking about what the price will be per game. With every generation, the prices of games have increased by $10. Now I don't know about everyone out there, but $59.99 is my limit and the game has to amazing for me to even consider purchasing it at that price. I do most of my shopping on Amazon.com and I wait for their video game sales. Yet I can't say that I feel confident that games...

It seems that the only game that truly impressed me so far was street fighter. others felt rushed or too short. I'm getting impatient because the only reason i reserved the 3ds to begin with was for zelda, resident evil, and metal gear solid 3. Bring on the good games already!!!
Game Informer is reporting that Nintendo is currently showing a new console to game developers and publishers in anticipation of a late 2012 launch. Obviously, not much is known and it's an unconfirmed rumor, but this is intriguing. After the popularity of the Wii (but also the mixed reviews -- most people seemed to be bored of it after some use), are you interested in something like this? More info: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/04...
I currently have about 610 points, and the amount expiring is 180. While I'm glad they brought this program to the United States, I'm a bit disappointed they chose to implement expiration dates like this, especially as how even some airlines don't even do that (and me and my bf have amassed a huge collection of Coke Points). So now it's a question of, what do I spend the points on? https://club.nintendo.com/rewards.do I could buy a lower-point item just to use up the expiring...

I've got a whole box of great NES games I'd love to replay, but my brother has the NES and even if I did have it, the hardware is over 20 years old and tends to be rather finicky. There's a decent market in NES clones out there, so I'm wondering if it might be better to try one of them out. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which might be the best, taking into consideration cost and compatibility? Some possibilities: http://gdgt.com/yobo/fc/game-console/...

Having it set to anything except all the way 2D caused me some serious discomfort that lingered for a few minutes afterwards. And with the graphics set to 2D, all I saw were roughly PSP-quality graphics. I can't say it's worth remotely close to $249 for me.
Back when I was a little kid in the 90's I remember how this thing couldn't fit in my pockets and how it's so bulky! Now, it can fit in my pockets pretty easily and is not that much bigger than the current 3DS folded up. haha...
Now that the Nintendo 3DS is pretty much available to all, I'm sure a lot of people out there already got their hands on it. Initially, I thought it was a bit gimmicky, but after watching some of the demos of the augmented reality games, I was getting the urge to bust out the credit card and pick one up...especially with Walmart offering up to $100 credit if you trade in you old Nintendo DS (http://gdgt.com/discuss/if-you-already-own-ds-liv... What are your first impression?...
We have the Street Fighter game and some Bubbles game which I haven't played yet. I didn't really think of this but the 3D adds a lot to what you can do with the UI. layering the menus lets you be more efficient in how you present the information on the screen.
, Donkey Kong and others. In particular, I don´t like the Nintendo's videoconsoles...but the GBC was a great advance for its time and a great pleasure to have played whith it.
Is portable, have 3D graphics, but its main processor and system memory is very low if you compares it with others portable devices like smartphones, an example could be Sony Ericcson Xperia 10 or the Droid 2 ...and its aspect seems antiqued, though it does not. Always Nintendo with same way of make bussiness...
Wario Land was awesome. Unfortunately, the game doesn't save anymore. The games I own are: Mario Tennis, Teleroboxer, Wario Land, Galactic Pinball, Mario Clash, Red Alarm. I own 43% of the American VirtualBoy library! This thing was such a fail, but I think it could have had some fun games, really. Here's the list of all the American and Japanese games for the VB: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Boy_g...
It has one of the best game libraries of any system: remakes of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, F-Zero GX, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, Tales of Symphonia...the list just keeps going. I haven't hooked mine up in a couple years, but I think it's time I revisit some of these games.
With SSFIV3D, I was playing at a booth, and someone a little next to me played with SSFIV3D in their booth. We connected so seemlessly, we didn't realise, and before we knew it, were were locked in a battle. I was in Dynamic viewpoint (slightly behind the character), and he played in classic mode (side-by-side) and it was just so smooth on both ends. Amazing!
As soon as the online multiplayer feature was announced, the decision was made for me to sell whatever I have to and do however much computer sidework is required to get one of these at launch. This is the ONLY feature that has influenced my purchase decision. I already have a DS Lite and have been getting a lot of use out of it lately reliving classic RPGs. I would have been happy with my DS Lite for years to come at the rate I am going with these games, but... the thought of playing SSFIV on...

I'm wondering if there's anything in the way they market the games that would provide a clue. I've avoided Wii fever but do want to play the Mario Galaxy games and several old favorites on the Virtual Console. The new price is about right for me assuming my VC purchases will carry over to the next console.
Just sent my Cosmo Black unit back to Nintendo for a free repair. Apparently Street Fighter on this portable may have been little too much for it physically, because while playing I heard something pop while trying to perform the Shoryuken motion. The Analog stick pretty much froze in position after that. I managed to free the stick but afterwards it felt like it couldn't in 1/4 cardinal directions which would vary from moment to moment. I should add that it was a few days after the 30 day...

I live in Houston which is a large city but not really that urban like NY or SF. I've gotten 9 street pass encounters and they're all from the university I attend. How many street passes have y'all encountered? I'd really like to know for those that live in really urban places.
Specifically, it freezes when the homescreen transition screen comes up. Also, I consistently can't find wifi or it hangs in looking for a network even though there's string wifi around me. Anyone else having these problems? I didn't have these problems before the update.
) I don't have a ton of time to play these days, but there are a handful of titles I missed when they first came out that I would really like to play (like Uncharted 2), so I figured renting one game every month or so would be a better deal than buying. I checked out GameFly, but wasn't really impressed by their pricing, so I ended up signing up for Gamemine. Their pricing is better, but selection isn't so hot, there's a wait list for nearly everything I want, and I'd be...

We're having a discussion about these sorts of keyboards (and even mice) that are specifically for a certain gaming console. Should they technically go under our peripherals > keyboard / mice categories, or should they go under gaming > controllers?
an alternative (simple?) gaming experience and the other bringing the console gaming experience in a powerful portable device. Before the DS and PSP were released, I thought that the PSP would definitely be the winner because it was so much more powerful, but I was obviously way off. I'm guessing the majority of people wanted a device/game designed for gaming on the go and not having what is essentially a portable PS2. Personally, I think I would take the Sony NGP purely due to the spec...

I know I tagged this post with a few Apple products -- but this can really apply to any gadget. Recently, I was reflecting on this though. I sold my 2nd-gen iPod (which was the first Apple product I ever owned and started me on the long, sad path to Apple fanboyism) to a coworker a few years ago. In hindsight, I kind of regret it. It was a 20GB drive, monochrome screen, and I think I sold it for ~$50. But I remember when I first set my hand on it, how awesome and incredible I thought this device...

I just got my balance board, and it came with Wii Fit, which I'm liking, but I know there's other games for this thing. I figure given the nature of the controller, they're probably hit or miss, so I'm open to suggestions. Looking for both fitness and non-fitness games.
