Detailed review
The Gamecube will always have a special place in my heart, It was my pride at a time where I seemed to be the last Nintendo fan on my block; It was my shame with its dorky look and slightly unpleasant purple color.

Nintendo did the some small things right, the very convenient handle on the back, moving to optical disks and flash based memory. They also failed to see the importance of connected gaming or HD graphics like their contemporaries had.

As far as the games, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Super Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart Double Dash remain among my favorite games of all time.

Nintendo fixed the biggest flaws of the Gamecube in the Wii and more importantly they learned that their brand wouldn't sell itself. Moving to standards based flash memory, motion controls and WiFi was brilliant. Keeping the Gamecube controller ports (I loved the Gamecube's controller), still compatible flash memory and having backwards compatibility is the only reason I haven't ran to buy a new Gamecube.
Now how about some HD, Nintendo, its 2010!
