The new, improved Nintendo DS Lite is worth the cost of the upgrade for fans of the original DS portable gaming device. It retains all the qualities that made the DS so much fun, and the bright new screens make a significant difference in the look of the games.

The new console is definitely a thumbs up, its new refined style should now pit it against Sony's more style conscious PSP, but with a quirkier selection of games and a price tag under a £100 means it’s a slice of gaming excellence.

Nintendo has always dominated in terms of portable gaming because they make cheap devices with a big game catalog. This has not change even now with the various PSPs, iPhones, and iPod Touches around. Sure the screens could be bigger (at the cost of battery life, like in the DSi), but they do...

Love my DS!! It was a Christmas gift from my mom & sister! I enjoy playing the games I have though the collection is a small one. But I like the size of it, b/c it's light and sleek, not bulky or heavy like past portable systems. But again it's a cool thing to have!

Obviously it's time has past and it's on the way out, with the DSi out now and the 3DS coming out soon, but the DS Lite can still produce some hours of fun.

Games are fun when you go solo, but the wi-fi connection makes it perfect for group play. I'd recommend ALL the Mario games. The mini games in Super Mario and Mario Cart are the best time killers. But to really get competitive, you have to go Battle Mode on Bomberman 2. What better way...
