A solid console, with enjoyable games, it just wasn't enough to beat the Sony Playstation, but it was enough to keep Nintendo in the console business, which is more than can be said about the Sega Dreamcast. Some really great and memorable first-party titles were released by Nintendo, like Super Mario 64, Starfox 64, Super Smash Bros., and a couple Legend of Zelda titles (among others). Emotionally, this was one of my favorite video game consoles. But the lack of great third-party support and the use of 64-bit cartridges doomed this machine. There is really nothing left to say. Some of the best games of all time (ocarina of time anyone?) were on the N64, and despite lackluster graphics compared to other consoles of its time this is a definite winner.
