People who want a killer DSLR and sometimes want to shoot movie scenes will appreciate the D90 the most. Its still shots are among the very best available, competing head to head with the outstanding images from any camera with 8+ megapixels. Once your image density is this high, the chances are good that you will use the excess pixels for cropping, not because you need more clarity to the image. The D90 has 12.2 megapixels in the Large image.

Video (naw, it's really cinema) mode tops out with movie frames that are 1280 x 720 pixels at 24 frames per second. These can look a tad soft at full size on your computer at first, but a tweak to the Camera Menu > Set Picture Control > goose the Sharpening control and lower image Contrast will improve the D-movie frames a lot.

Where this camera shines is in how much it will teach you about the striking differences between still photography and movie cinematography. You'll need a capable edit program to really get the most out of it.
