For the past 4 years this lens has been producing distortion free images. I love it.

Well, I know there are loads of discussions about Nikon lenses everywhere, buy hey why not here too? I've got the stock boring lens that I've not used in over a year, and a 50mm f1.8 prime lens that never seems to come off it. I'm kinda spoilt by the prime, amazing performance in all light types, and crystal clarity, but has anyone got any tips for a good zoom lens that maintains the clarity of the prime without spending thousands?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this camera to date. The D50 is arguably one of the best DSLRs Nikon has produced to date. Full featured, incredible sensor, very low noise at higher ISOs, easy (for a DSLR) to lug around and an all around top-shelf gadget. It is destined for DSLR glory.
