Overall I found the Nikon D300S an extremely capable camera with a very refined design and a great demeanor, an excellent tool for making great photos quickly.

Has I said, the D300s give nice pictures, but I did not feel the same magic that I had with the D90 and D700. The Camera feel great in hands, but I had too much “miss” and garbage with the D300s that I had with the D90 or D700. Maybe the Lens that Nikon sent my with the D300s was not the best...

When it comes right down to it, you don't buy a more expensive APS-C camera to take better pictures. A D40 and a D300s can take most pictures at about the same image...
Read the full review →I do not use the video feature at all so there is no rating on that. Really like the fast access to the metering, ISO, and white balance. The huge number of focus points is also a big plus.
