When you want to be creative or lighting is an issue then the 50mm NIKKOR is your go to lens. Being and AF-S you will get almost instant focusing on the pro level camera's. This is a lens that I tend to go to whenever I am feeling the need for inspiration. Working this lens at f1.4 or f2 takes skill but the results are always worth it. Back in the Film days I avoided such low f-stops because when I developed the film there were so few keepers. But now in the digitial days with instant feedback I have nearly perfected this lens!
Plus you can fit it into your pocket, that is how small it is.
