I'm asking for a co-worker who has kids who are just getting into sports now and was looking to buy a new lens for his 40x. He was considering the DX VR-Zoom but doesn't know how much distance he will get out of it. Max distance is currently at 50 yards but he'd like to future proof himself a bit with a lens. Can anyone make recommendations for a compatible lens that will be good for needs 50yds min. and for sports ideally in the $250 range.
