Great upgrade from the standard 18-55. Really performs well considering it has a plastic mount. As with any lense, treat it well and you won't have to worry too much about its "durability".

This lens is a bargain! It lets you take great pictures and it's nice and light -- that's the plus side of it's mostly plastic construction. The downside is that you need to be careful with it. Treat it well and it will last for years though.
