If I have a BT headset attached to my tablet, can I route the sound output to the miniplug on the device and still use some of the hard buttons on the BT headset?
I'm mainly thinking that I want a Bluetooth remote for my tablet and the only ones that I can find are attached to headsets or have miniplug out. I need to keep the audio going through the device directly (through headphone or stripped audio from the HDMI-out), any advice?
All those people that have an Android Honeycomb/Icecream Sandwich tablet ... When you complain that there is a lack of apps, what do you mean? Do you mean: 1. The existing apps just crash? 2. The apps you run don't have the options icon on the top right? 3. The apps don't look right on a larger screen? 4. Or some other meaning? I bought an old Xoom for cheap to try out ICS when it comes out, and it has TONS of apps! Almost everything in the market works! I got like 20 top quality games. In fact I'd...

http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/19/lightpad-connects-your-smartphone-to-an-11-inch-screen-expands/ LightPad to the rescue! Boom, the versatility of a smartphone, no need to buy a smartphone and tablet to be a "road warrior." This is what I have been looking for in that you don't need a third device, you just have to be able to use your phone in conjunction with a peripheral that allows you to be more productive. This will be demoed at CES and is for sure purely a concept thing, my hope is that big...

I found a post on a XDA and wrote it up again on my blog, I think some of you out there might be interested. http://enexi.net/2011/07/22/guide-upgrade-your-eur...

I've had my Xoom for a couple of weeks now and I'd really like to root it but I can't find a proper guide or tutorial. I've seen Koush's guides on his blog but they have no recovery, and I'm not not sure what to do. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
The new widget resizing stuff is kind of cool, though not really all that amazing. Haven't really seen anything else all that noteworthy. The 3.1 update I received didn't come with the movie app so I'm not really sure why Motorola is holding this out, but it's kind of infuriating. And of course, still no SD card support. What's the holdup on this?
Here's a thread where we can share what cool Honeycomb optimized apps we have discovered. I'll start with a few that I use on my Xoom. Feedly - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.devhd.fe... This is a great minimalist magazine style google reader client. Google Reader - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.a... Recently updated for Honeycomb, while not as pretty as Feedly or Pulse its very functional. Other RSS Readers to Try: - Pulse:...

The "old" apps usually work full screen and everything from display to speed to smooth scrolling works just beautifully. Streaming video on its wireless works better than on the big computer wired to the network. If the sales are disappointing it's because of availability. I only found one store with it in stock and they only had one. Using the Xoom is so convenient that I'm on my desktop Kubuntu computer less often. I'm typing this standing up with the great SlideIT...

Overall I'm happy. Its fast nough, plays movies and and games. I unlocked and rooted it but have since unrooted it. I'm wanting skype to get yhier client updated. Currently can use fring to video chat with wife's ipad2. Google needs more tablet android apps.
There aren't enough native applications and the devices honestly behaves a bit odd. If that weren't enough, honeycomb is completely different from gingerbread or any other previous android in terms of usage. Sure you could make the case that it is a tablet and it should feel different, but it was like honeycomb came from a completely different mindset than anything which came before. Maybe if the device had been cheaper I would have considered keeping it. But for $600+ after taxes for...

The number of haves for the Xoom on gdgt are starting to creep up, so it sounds like a number of people are starting to receive Android's latest tablet after it went on sale this weekend. After having a chance to play with it, what are your initial impressions? Things you like about it? Things you don't like?
RIM announced that they'll be selling the PlayBook starting at $499 (available mid April), and Samsung will begin selling their 10.1 inch tablet starting at $499 as well (available in June). It looks like we finally have a game folks! And this can only mean good things for us. Color me excited! Starting prices for tablets: Apple iPad 2: $499 RIM PlayBook: $499 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: $499 Motorola Xoom: $599 HP TouchPad: ??? (Note: I know there's varying specs between each of these...
http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/22/samsung-galaxy-... both are thinner than the ipad by an amount almost no one will notice and they looks just as sexy(IMO). The touchWiz UI that samsung loves using is present and in this form looks pretty good. It looks like they are changing not as much and adding things like apps and widgets. The only bummer is that we will have to wait till june 8th to buy one. Like I've said before I'm in no rush to...
