Hello all; I have a Motorola Cliq/Dext and suddenly appeared this problem: as soon as i slide the qwerty keyboard out the screen messes up and it's like an old tv with the scart not plugged correctly: the whole screen slides randomly and there is a high temperature of the battery; I made a hard reset, installed another O.S. (cyanogen mod 7) and didn't solve the problem... Also when i turn the phone on the white motorola logo fails and turns black and the phone reboots over and over for many times...
1 roms for this phone: I just installed Eclair2Cliq Beta 1, and I have to say it's a giant improvement over Alpha 5. All of the problems I was having before seem to be gone. The headphone jack is working, the phone recognizes orientation, and the camera is working again. I'm not sure if the bluetooth is fixed, because I never use that, so I can't tell. I can check if anybody is interested. I think even when the official updates comes out (I think the last I heard it was supposed...

Posted this morning in the support forums, by an admin: "For those asking for an update regarding a software upgrade on CLIQ in the U.S., we've made a decision to take more time on the release to optimize the experience in some key areas. We will continue to work to deliver it as soon as possible and apologize that we have been unable to provide an upgrade to these users in Q2 as planned. We are working hard to provide an upgrade to Android 2.1 as soon as we can. Our consumers’...
I've tried pressing them while on the home screen, in Pandora, in YouTube, etc. And *nothing*. It's like the button presses aren't even recognized by the system at all. In any application. I'm just curious if anyone has run into this problem; if so, how'd you fix it (if there is a fix)?
I have had my phone less than 3 months. All of sudden about 3 weeks ago my phone stopped ringing when I had an incoming call. I was not aware there was a problem because I could use it for everything and I was loving my new Cliq. I did notice an unusual increase in voicemails where I thought I missed calls. Then my friends start texting me and telling me to answer the phone. I realized then it was the phone and not a signal issue. I can call my cell from my home with 4 bars and it goes straight...

I just updated to the 1.3.18, and I gotta say I am getting sick of these trivial (and not frequent) updates. I know they are promising the 2.1 update, but I think will still be crippled by MOTOBLUR. It's like driving a porche with a lawn mower engine - such potential, but my old G1 runs smoother. Of course it would be better if there was a good stable rom for rooted phones. Apparently MOTOBLUR has rooted into every aspect of the firmware making it like pulling teeth to un-BLUR it. It...

Engadget is reporting that a new firmware for the CLIQ has been starting to roll out to users. Supposed fixes include battery life improvements, touchscreen and accelerometer accuracy improvements, Quickoffice2, and improved corporate sync. From Motorola: _________________________________________ it is rolling out in shifts. so if you do not have it available on your CLIQ today you will very shortly as it rolls out so do not be alarmed or feel left out as you will get it very shortly. * Longer...

I have had the CLIQ since October 09. One Jan 10th while trying to send a text using the QWERT slide out keyboard the phone took on a mind of its own. Example: A= Agte 8& I called T-Mo who patched me to Motorola. Motorola then did a master reset and also messed around with the text settings. Nothing worked. Motorola says they have no known issues with the phone as far as software, which they are assuming this problem is. The following day I noticed the battery becoming hot. I am now waiting...
According to Engadget, Motorola announced that Android 2.1 will be coming to the CLIQ sometime soon! Link: http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/06/motorola-backfl...
http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/16/motorola-backfl... So the Motorola Cliq's odd brother might make it to AT&T but cut off at the knees. Looks like AT&T gimped the hell out of the Backflip by removing all things google except the market and maps, which means no GMail or Gtalk and some other stuff if I am not mistaken. Instead you will get Yahoo? Now on a Google based phone that seems a little oxymoronic, but maybe AT&T just doesn't...

Since ditching my G1 for the CLIQ, I'd noticed a drastic drain on the battery. Even before I started stacking the programs into my CLIQ, the battery would not last more than 12 hours. Fortunately a friend mentioned that he was using Advanced Task Killer (ATK) on his Verizon Droid. What I don't understand is once I am done with a program, how do I turn it off without using ATK?
Any clue on what cable to buy to get the CLIQ to do video out? Or if it is possible at all? I want to hook it up to my 32" plasma. I'm not concerned about the quality.
My mom, who's not very into social networking beyond gmail, is on T-Mo and wants an Android phone with a physical keyboard -- which means G1 or Cliq. If you don't really need/want the social network features (twitter, facebook, myspace), is this phone still a good option? Will all these social widgets just get in the way?
I don't like not having a screen protector on any touch-screen device, but this weekend I was not able to get to a store to get another and keeping the stock protector on was hideous. I took it off.. I noticed in the limited about of use that I gave it, that sliding between screens was "sticky". Sometimes the screens would not slide at all, but merely stay, giving me a flip-back effect (rather annoying). Is this issue unique to the CLIQ or something that should be posted regarding...
Been using the CLIQ for the past few days and have noticed that it gets REALLY hot when I'm carrying it in my pocket, almost uncomfortably so. Anyone else experienced this?
http://www.androidcentral.com/t-mobile-motorola-cl... The contract price sounds ridiculous, but the off-contract price doesn't seem too, too bad. Am at least thinking about the phone off-contract at this point to take back to AT&T if I can't handle T-Mo's service.
I think Motorola and T-Mobile are making a big strategic blunder by pricing the CLIQ at $199 with two-year service agreement. Moto desperately needs to get back in the game, and if they want to grab marketshare they should be pricing this at $99 or below. Yes, it'll hurt their margins, but right now they need people to start using Motorola phones again, and $199 isn't competitive given what else is out there.
