focusing on Zune as software and service, which was then followed up by a vague statement from Microsoft PR that they would "share more information about the evolution of the Zune entertainment service and Zune hardware as future plans develop." None of that inspires much confidence that Microsoft will ever produce a Zune HD2, and I certainly don't blame them, since relatively few people ever bought a Zune player and the real growth right now is in smartphones. But as I wrote a...

Zune 120 Problem
I recently used the 'delete all' function within the Zune Software (both the Zune and Software are fully updated) - it went through and of course went through the procedures of reinstalling the firmware after everything was cleared. This is where the problem comes in, sometimes the update (for the firmware) will stall, hang entirely, sometimes complete. When it has completed the Software recognizes the Zune sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. The weird thing is that when it does, it...

Best practices when disconnecting from a PC
This sounds stupid, but I wonder what's the best way to disconnect the Zune after syncing. This is my first Zune/MTP device. On iPods, it's very straight forward as there's a checkbox in iTunes. If checked, I have to eject my iPod manually, if unchecked, iTunes will automatically eject the iPod after syncing. I'm guessing since the Zune is an MTP derivative, it would be fine just disconnecting it whenever it's not syncing without manually ejecting it. However, I have...

Zune 120 doesn't seem to be turning on :(
G'day folks, I have had my second Zune 120 (my first one got stolen... grrr...) for about three months or so. I have completely loved the experience and it has been working perfectly for me. However... Just today, I went to turn it on while I was going to work, and it simply wouldn't wake up! I should have a bit over half the battery left and it has been taken off hold. i have read some reports on here that complain about the hold button, but there is a definite click, so I don't...

Anybody else having issues with the hold switch?
My Zune's hold switch just broke for the second time, and it's out of warranty now. Anybody else having problems with their hold switches, and has anybody managed to fix theirs?

Weird WMV issue
Anything i've tried in the WMV format for video podcasts (mostly revision 3 content) doesn't seem to be able to fast forward. Instead it skips forwards but when you let go of the Zune Pad it goes backwards. I traded in the player once already and been on the phone with support and they have no idea what to do either. Anyone know of people with similar issues. Any work arounds?

Can you hear the drive seek?
Maybe it's my new headphones... maybe the age of the device... or the fact that I just now noticed it, but does anyone else hear the drive seeking through the headphones when changing songs? I really only notice it if I change play-lists. categories, or next several times. It's not real bad, just something that lately has my attention.
Why no Mac support?!
Still, Microsoft has made it so that there is no possible way to sync with OSX and it's bugging me. At least make it so we can drag and drop! They can't afford to be losing customers just because of this restriction, I mean, do they WANT their product to sell? The Zune brand is pretty much only known by geeks, or at least bought by them, and more people in the geek community have Macs than in the "other" community... I'm not trying to say that geeks only have Macs, just...
